Howdy Y'all,
Sorry I haven't updated the blog in forever. We had Livestock Show and I wasn't in the office hardly at all that week, then I've been in College Station all week at New Employee Orientation, which is a conference that the Texas AgriLIFE Extension Service requires all new employees to attend. I know that I was exposed to lots of information over the past week, but I sure would've rather been in the County helping y'all get ready for District IV Round-Up. I'm sitting here at my parents house in Colleyville bout to call it a night so I can get up and see some of y'all smiling faces in Gainseville tomorrow morning.
Round-Up
I hope all the Food Show contestants did awesome today. I'm sure y'all did. Congratulations on following through with your project and advancing to our District competition.
Fashion Show/Horse Quiz Bowl... I hope everybody is ready for the big day tomorrow. I'll see you guys up there.
Lamar County Junior Livestock Show
Once I get all of y'alls placings, I'll post them on here, but I just want to say all of you did such an amazing job at the show exhibiting your projects. I couldn't have been any more proud of the way you all conducted yourselves whether you were winning or losing. You truly exemplified the way 4-H members are supposed to act.
Horse Validation
Just a reminder... I'm pretty sure Betty sent out an e-mail reminding you, but I MUST HAVE YOUR HORSE VALIDATION FORMS BY MAY 1ST. I have to turn them into the Texas Horse Specialists shortly after the 1st. If you have questions or concerns about that... please let me know and we will address them as they come in.
I'm ready to be back in Lamar County, so I'll see some of y'all in Gainseville tomorrow and I'm sure I'll be seeing the rest of y'all around as we wrap up this school year.
One last thing.. if you are thinking about showing a market project at next years LCJLS, please let me know at the office within the next week or two so that we can develop a list and start trying to locate projects.
