oneday.jpgHowdy All My 4-H'ers

I'm gonna take this blog and really push an event that the entire state is going to be doing.  On Octobert 10, 2009, 4-H members from across the state are going to take to their communities and make a difference.  IMAGINE how many great things can be accomplished in just one day across our state.  We as a 4-H program are going to participate in this activitiy.  No IF's, ANDS, or BUT's about it.  We can either split up into smaller teams and work on multiple projects, or maybe we can come up with a really creative idea where like 30 of us could work together and make a difference.  We need to have whatever we're gonna do figured out and submitted to the state by September 30th.  Guys, this is our chance to really really make a difference and let all the people out there who don't know about 4-H know that Lamar County does have an active 4-H program and we're growing.  If you have any ideas, e-mail me, make a comment on the blog about it, call the office, come by the office(I'm always down for visitors..most of y'all already know probably), whatever, I just really want this to work.  Hope I hear from y'all and we have so many ideas that we can do community service projects on our own.

We are nearing the end of our fundraiser and there are tons of tickets still out.  I just wanted to remind y'all that the money and any tickets you haven't sold are due back to the Extension Office by Friday August 7th.  We will be drawing the winner on Monday August 10th, so it's vital that I have any tickets you've sold back to me by then.  PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE(insert image of me on my knees begging) get out and make a final push to sell your tickets.  This is a great opportunity for us to make some easy money.  I hope y'all are having a great week.
Howdy Y'all!

I hope this post finds you all having a great summer.  I just wanted to give you a heads up about something really exciting that happened towards the end of June.  A delegation from Lamar County attended the District IV Extreme Leadership Camp, which I encourage all of you to attend next year if you didn't go this year, but at that camp D4 officer elections were held.  N. Newman from Roxton 4-H Club ran for office and was elected the 2009-2010 District 4 1st Vice-President.  Now while you may be thinking..that sounds pretty exciting in itself, that's not the exciting part.  As part of his job description on District Council, he is entitled to a spot on the STATE 4-H COUNCIL!!  That's what I'm talking about!  Big Timing here in Lamar County!! Anyways.. as you see him around at stuff tell him Congrats for a job well done and get the latest update from the State 4-H Program.
