You can burn a recorded session to CD...
When you're setting up the event make sure you've chosen to Allow recording to be downloaded for offline viewing. You can then save the recording as an exe file on any kind of media. I've got a bunch of examples on the web at http://eit.tamu.edu/recordings.html - the ones that say download and run .exe file.
To get to the files, you have to go to where you can playback each event. You can go to Public Recordings and search or go to your schedule and click on past events.
Click Playback then choose to Download the Playback File, which is a self-extracting executable which includes the recording and the software necessary to view the recording. Some event features such as Evaluations are not supported when viewing recordings offline.
You then should be able to burn the .exe to a CD.
Video can be used in centra, as long as the video option is chosen within the Event details (the screen with time, date etc). There are bandwidth considerations, so the recommendation is to use video sparingly
This entry reiterates and adds to info from the EIT weblog to identify Centra symptoms, issues and resolutions.
Symptoms include:
System check gets stuck -May not be able to progress from the window that says click here if setup does not begin in 1 minute
Window does not open when click to Attend an event- May get a message that says the webpage is trying to close the window
May see a message in the information bar (under the menu in IE) about Active X
According to Centra, you can insert all kinds of files into an agenda, including these extensions: txt,html,htm,gif,jpg,jpeg,avi,mov,qt,mpg,mp2,wav,au,rpm,ram,ra,rm,asf,ppt,rmf,asx,wmv.
Enrollees must have the appropriate application installed in order to view the file.
Replace the File name field with *.* to be able to browse for different file types.
If you've created an agenda with an evaluation in it. you cannot insert the agenda on the fly, just before you start the event. YOu're better off with a subject. Create a subject and associate the agenda with the eval in it with that subject then attach the event to that subject.
If you insert the handout info into the agenda as a file to download then those who view the recorded session from the server can still download and print them.
