When you run the System Check by clicking on the link in the dark rectangle under the Extension logo at http://centra.tamu.edu/main/tce it goes through a number of steps, and you will click Continue to proceed to the end.
At the end of the process you'll see a message that says:
All System Checks passed!
You are ready to attend a Centra event.
with a button that says Exit.
If you DO NOT see these words the system check has not successfully completed and you will not be able to successfully attend an event with that computer.
For information on what TO DO if the system check does not work, see the troubleshooting section in this blog, or call EIT at 845.9689
It can be helpful to delete temporary IE files & cookies when trying to get system check to work. And make sure the user has admin rights to be able to install.
Some errors we've seen recently are:
*Do you want to save or run *.jhtml (file)- which deals with user having appropriate rights (and java?)
*CentraOne launcher 'class not registered'- still under investigation ;)
This entry reiterates and adds to info from the EIT weblog to identify Centra symptoms, issues and resolutions.
Symptoms include:
System check gets stuck -May not be able to progress from the window that says click here if setup does not begin in 1 minute
Window does not open when click to Attend an event- May get a message that says the webpage is trying to close the window
May see a message in the information bar (under the menu in IE) about Active X
