Here is a report on the 4-H Ghostriders Drill Team-
The youth 4-H team won National title in Colorguard division (we have 2 colorgaurd teams) and
Youth Intermediate Division (loping)
3rd place in
novice division (they trot)
youth advance division (loping pretty good pace)
5th place in
colorguard (2nd team) - they forgot to salute and had a horse act up so they knew
They get buckles for being National champions
Congratulations to the team and their coach- Mrs. Kelly Jayroe!!!
The following are the 2008 award documents for the annual awards banquet. We asked that you return these to the office no later than July 10 so that we can schedule our award interviews and begin preparation for awards. These are for those members that completed recordbooks ONLY!
Here is the information concerning the individual awards -
2008 Van Zandt County 4-H- Awards Application Information
1. Must have submitted a Recordbook for the 2007-2008 4-H Year.
2. Completed and submitted application for appropriate award category by July 10, 2008.
3. Everyone will go through an interview process (Rookie thru Gold Star Award) regardless of having competition or not.
4. Interview - Will be announced at a later date. - interview times will vary. Please call with most available time. We are shooting for AM interviews.
If these times are not conducive for your schedule, please let us know...we will accommodate to the best of our ability.
5. RESULTS - Will not be announced until County 4-H Awards Banquet - August 9, 2008

Gold Star Award - Sr. Members only (two awards) must be 15 years old and have been in 4-H for 3 consecutive years.
For further requirements, please call the County Extension office!
