Eligibility/No Pass No Play

The dedication of this 4-H Office is to see that 4-H members comply with provisions of the Texas Education Code.  The Denton County 4-H Office is dedicated to complying with the Texas Education Code requirements in order to maintain our status of an extracurricular organization.  Keep in mind all 4-H competitive events, including livestock shows, require 4-H youth to be academically eligible in order to compete.  This applies regardless of the day or time during the week the event is held.  4-H members must request an excused absence or eligibility request at least TWO WEEKS prior to any event.  Eligibility/Absence forms may be requested from the 4-H Office.

  • Jan-Mar - Major Show eligibility forms and excused absence requests due to 4-H Office (at least TWO WEEKS prior)
  • February 23 - County 4-H Roundup eligibility forms due to 4-H Office
  • March 19 - DCLAYF eligibility forms and excused absence requests due to 4-H Office
  • April 13 - Excused absence requests due to 4-H Office for District 4-H Roundup
  • April 24-25 - District 4-H Roundup eligibility forms due at registration
