I
hope that everyone had a fabulous week.
We had a lot going on and it seems that everyone's hard work paid
off. I wanted to give you all a
preliminary look at our success. The drawing
for the member and adult $50 gift card will be announced at the April
Council/PLA meetings.
Thank
you to every 4-H family that showed up and supported the DCLAYF Concession
Stand. Blake H, Northwest 4-H, and Trey
R, Pilot Point 4-H, are Coffee and Hot Chocolate gurus. They were able to keep things hot almost as
fast as the orders came in. Suzie M,
Trophy Club 4H, was able to convince almost every customer to add one more
thing to their order. I know there were
many more heroes that worked this week.
All
of this data is preliminary, pending an audit by the committee. At a quick glance, once all receipts are
tallied, bills paid and payments received; we should have beaten my annual goal
of $3000. Our highest earning shifts were:
·
Friday, 12:00 p.m. - $209.00
·
Wednesday, 5:00 p.m. - $178.50
·
Thursday, 3:00 p.m. - $177.00
The
highest earning single day was Wednesday with over $1100. Pop makes up 32% of our total sales, followed
by 18% for Hamburgers, 12% to Hot Dogs and 12% to Nachos.
The
DCLAYF Concession Stand is the only county-wide fundraiser we have all
year. It supports every aspect of the
county 4-H program. Beyond just our
annual Gold Star banquet, it offsets expenses related to County 4-H Roundup and
4-H College. It purchases the marketing
supplies that each club has access to for open houses. The fund also supports our youth who attend
State 4-H Roundup or a National 4-H contest.
There are a 100 different ways that all of our families benefit from
this fund.
Way
to go
