The Texas 4-H Clothing and Textiles Advisory Board offers 4-H members,
volunteer leaders and county Extension agents an opportunity to provide vision
for the future of the clothing and textiles project, promote the project to
Texas youth and adults and provide representation from all areas of the
state.
Any senior 4-H member involved in the clothing and textiles project can
apply. Applications from 4-H members must be supported by letters of
recommendation from the county Extension agent responsible for 4-H clothing
projects in their county. Applications are accepted twice a year; in June and
in December. The next application deadline is June 5, 2009. Membership terms
are two years (June application deadline membership runs January 1- December 31)
and may be extended by request of the member. Applications are available at http://fcs.tamu.edu/clothing/4h/packet/index.php.
The Teen Board consists of a maximum of 48 members (4 from each District),
selected to represent all districts, interests, experience and leadership in the
4-H clothing program. Members are expected to attend a minimum of three of the
four regularly scheduled meetings during their two year term.
Volunteer and county Extension agent applications are also due on June 5,
2009 and must be accompanied by a letter of support.
