2009 SOUTHERN REGION TEEN LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE

The Southern Region Teen Leadership Conference is a first-of-its-kind, multi-state 4-H conference created to bring together 4-H teens and adults to empower and inspire them to make a positive change across the southern region through youth-adult partnerships.  The 4th annual conference will be held on October 8-11, 2009 at the Clyde York 4-H Center in Crossville, TN.
The conference is open to 4-H youth ages 14-18, and is a great opportunity for youth to get exposure to leadership development, civic engagement opportunities and learn skills to help them develop youth/adult partnerships in their communities.  This year's conference is organized by a planning committee with members from Kentucky, Tennessee and Florida.  All of the resources can be found online at http://www.srtlc.com.  Cost of the event is $175.00 and does not include travel to and from Tennessee.

The registrations and F-600 medical forms are due to the Kentucky 4-H Youth Development Office by September 11, 2009.  Please email the registration summary (excel spreadsheet) to mmains@uky.edu.

This is an amazing networking opportunity for these youth.   Please note that, ideally, we would like to have youth/adult partnerships.  An ideal "team" would consist of 3-5 youth and 1 adult.  However, in a situation where one 4-H member from a county wants to attend and learn, that is perfectly acceptable.  Individuals will have the same opportunities to learn and develop as the county teams.  We require, in compliance with UT policy, that for every 8 4-H members attending from your state, one adult chaperone be registered.  Each state is responsible for its own chaperones.

Registration begins on Thursday, October 8, 2009 at 4:00 pm CST.  The conference will conclude by 10:00 am CST on Sunday, October 11, 2009.
