Bull Testing at Kilgore College

| | Comments (0)

Kilgore College is seeking bulls for their second testing period of 2007 which is scheduled to start on September 15th. Bull testing programs offer producers the opportunity to obtain performance data on bull prospects. The upcoming testing period is for fall 2006 to winter 2007 born calves.

Cost to enroll a bull in the program is $100 plus actual feed and veterinary costs. Each bull is measured at the end of the test period to determine marbling, ribeye area, and backfat thickness. Hip height, scrotal circumference and feed efficiency/rate of gain information are also determined. For more information about this program, including birth date requirements, visit the Kilgore College Farm's web site at http://www.kilgorecollegeagfarm.org/id10.html.
