Beef Cattle: February 2009 Archives

Trichomoniasis is a disease that causes infertility and occasional abortions in cows and heifers.  Trichomonas fetus, the protozoan that causes the disease, can be found in the reproductive tracts of bulls and cows.

The Texas Animal Health Commission adopted new Trichomoniasis regulations at their meeting in Austin February 24, 2009.

The following is a lengthy press release from the TAHC about the new program, part of which takes effect on April 1, 2009.
