COUNTY 4-H FOOD SHOW AND 4-H FOOD CHALLENGE

This year's County 4-H Food Show & 4-H Food Challenge are set for November 21, 2009 with entries due to the county Extension office by November 2, 2009.  You can check out the guidelines at the link shown below.  The county entry form is attached to enter either or both;  and remember that Clover Kids (K-2 grade) may participate in these contests.  So be looking for that winning recipe!

4-H HAS TALENT

The Texas 4-H and Youth Development Program is excited to announce the 1st Annual Texas 4-H Roundup "4-H Has Talent Competition."  This exciting new event will give youth the opportunity to showcase their talents on the "big stage" at the June 9th Assembly at Texas 4-H Roundup.  The 2010 4-H Has Talent Competition is another way the Texas 4-H Program is continuing to encourage youth to explore the arts as well as showcase the young talent the great state of Texas has to offer.  Please pass this information to all of your 4-Hers so the 1st Annual 4-H Has Talent Competition will be a huge success!!!

2010 BEEKEEPING ESSAY

The 2010 Texas 4-H Beekeeping Essay rules and theme has been released to all counties. The 2010 essay theme is "Is My Community Honey Bee-Friendly." The essay contest is sponsored on the national level by The Foundation for the Preservation of Honey Bees, Inc. which awards $750.00 to the first place winner, $500.00 to second, and $250.00 for third. On the state level, the Williamson and Collin Counties Beekeeping Associations help sponsor the contest with $100.00 for first place, $75.00 for second, and $50.00 for third.
