Whether you are at a County office or a District office, you should upgrade to GroupWise 7, unless you are using Windows 95, 98 or NT. Several folks have asked me about GroupWise Notify. This tip will help you copy the Notify icon to the Startup folder, and will work if you are using GW6.x or GW7. By having the Notify icon in the Startup folder, Notify will auto start each time the machine is booted up.
Placing Notify in the Startup folder is a simple two step process.
At the first of the year, the method by which unwanted or unsolicited e-mails got marked as SPAM was ended. If you are like me, the second the system went off-line, the flood gates opened. Stay positive, there is a solution! I am going to use this Tech OPS entry to help guide you through setting up the Junk Mail Handler inside GroupWise. By all accounts, this built-in feature of GroupWise 6.5 and 7 really will help you keep your mailbox SPAM free.
Just follow these very simple steps, and you will be on your way. Note - these steps are using GroupWise 7, but should work with GroupWise 6.5 (for GroupWise 6.5 tip, click here), if you have not upgraded yet.
If you are looking for some cool Photography software, I have just the ticket for you. Microsoft released Photo Story 3 for Windows XP the last part of 2005. It has received excellent reviews. As always, I encourage you to take it for a spin and see what you think. Here are some ideas in which this application could be used: 4H and Interpretative events, educational programs, attachments to emails, and added to your TECO website for a photo album type object.
Here are some example: West Texas Fires and A moment at the park .
The first thing you will need to do is download the software to the desktop and install. Click here to download. Choose Run or Open to install it. Note - Photo Story 3 will only run on Windows XP. For more information about Photo Story 3 for Windows XP, click here.
Now to start using the application! I plan on posting several training entries on this software package. So, I am not going to cover all the options and features in this single post; however, please feel free to jump ahead, experiment, or just play once you get started.
