No Spell Check? - Compatibility MODE

| | Comments (0)

If you open the properties of the Groupwise shortcut in WinXP and click on the Compatibility tab, you can check the box next to compatibility mode and set the short cut to behave as if the program was running on a different verion of Windows. But if you do this, the Writing Tools (Spell Check, etc.) will stop working in Groupwise and uninstalling and re-installing GW won't fix the problem. So if you have a user who can't use spell check in Groupwise look at compatibility mode first.

New GWRSS Reader

| | Comments (0)

Those of us who have been using the free RSS reader for Groupwise have discovered that it recently expired. Fear not. I just downloaded the reader again from the following link and installed it. Now it no longer displays an expiration period, but shows "Lite v. 1.0.31" instead.

GroupWise WebAccess 6.5 Links

| | Comments (0)

Hi all,

For those of you using GroupWise WebAccess 55 to read your mail, please choose a newer Webaccess by browsing to:
and selecting one of following GroupWise 6.5 WebAccess servers:

http://county-agents.tamu.edu
or
http://agents.tamu.edu

You can also select Enterprise GroupWise 6.5 WebAccess( http://aggw6.tamu.edu) but it will be slower than either than the other two because it works for all GW 6.5 Post offices and is not optimized for county agent email.

You can Bookmark these sites for your convience.

Remember: After Nov 28, 2004 the GW 55 WebAccess link will stop working for email on either Agents or County-Agents mailboxes.

Junk Mail Handling in GroupWise 6.5

| | Comments (0)

In past issues of TnT, we have addressed some different methods of dealing with unwanted email, particularly spam. In Volume 1, Issue 5 (June 2003), we included an article on how to set up a spam folder and then set up a rule to move spam-marked mail to that folder. Just last month, Volume 2, Issue 2 February 2004), we went a little further in describing how to use a rule to automatically delete spam-marked email. The methods described in both of those articles work well in either GroupWise 5 or 6. However, as more and more of you now have begun using GroupWise 6.5, you will find yet another tool: junk mail handling. This article describes some of the features of junk mail handling which make it quite appealing, not just for spam, but for a wide range of unwanted email.
