I wanted to use this entry to tell you about a new technology/software that I encourage you to try out. I am pretty sure some of you have heard of it, but for others, it may be brand new. Skype, the Global Telephony Company, has recently released Skype for Windows 2.0. This software allows you to call anyone else on Skype, anywhere in the world, for free. Not only does this software let you make free voice calls to anyone else using Skype, but it lets you chat, send files, conference call, and make video calls too. In addition, for a very small fee, you can call traditional or mobile phone numbers. If you want to read more about Skype for Windows 2.0, click here.
Now, how are we going to use it? To introduce you to the technology, I am going to block out 2 hours a week to interact with you using the video call feature. I am going to use this technology as well as the NetStreaming PC remote control technology to provide support during this two hour block. If you have a webcam, great! If not, you can just use your headset to talk to me and you will still see my video.
This tip will walk you through installing and adding your first contact, which will be me.
I wanted to bring to your attention the new Google Earth 3D interface of the planet website. If you want to know more about a specific location, Google Earth combines satellite imagery, maps and the power of Google Search to put the world's geographic information at your fingertips.
Some of the Google Earth Features:
a. Fly from space to your neighborhood. Type in an address and zoom right in.
b. Search for schools, parks, restaurants, and hotels. Get driving directions.
c. Tilt and rotate the view to see 3D terrain and buildings.
d. Save and share your searches and favorites. Even add your own annotations.

The Google Earth Client is very easy to install and use; however, there are some very specific minimum requirements your machine must meet.
